Tier 1 Grants Continuation Process

Through the Tier 1 grants program, City of Kitchener provides operating support for foundational not-for-profit organizations/groups delivering services essential to a healthy and vibrant community. Thank you for the contributions your organization/group makes to the quality of life of Kitchener residents through this program!

To be eligible to receive an annual grant, all Tier 1 organizations/groups must submit information demonstrating that they continue to satisfy the requirements set out in their funding agreements with the city.

Submission deadline: 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 30, 2025

Next steps: Following a review of your submission, you will receive notification of the recommended grant allocation for your organization/group, as well as details about next steps in the process.

Note that all 2026 Tier 1 grant allocations are subject to final budget approval by Council in December 2025.

Planning a one-time special project or event? In special circumstances, Tier 1 organizations/groups are eligible to apply for Tier 2 funding, but only for one-time special projects or events.

Personal information is being collected under the authority of the Municipal Act s.11(1) and will be used by staff to administer the City of Kitchener’s Tier 1 community grant program. This information will be stored on a server owned by a Third Party Service Provider (GHD Digital) located in Canada. The personal information collected herein will be used only for the purposes relating to the program and will be protected in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the MFIPPA.
