Kitchener Utilities must witness all cut and caps and new connections (charges as per the Approved User Fee Schedule). Do not proceed without Kitchener Utilities staff and the Consultant Inspector.


  • when calling into Kitchener Utilities Dispatch, 48 hours notice is required.
  • the first time slot is 8:30 a.m. and is on a first come, first served basis.
  • all hydrants out of service shall be called into Kitchener Utilities Dispatch by the Contractor, and hydrant rings shall be installed. Ask Dispatch for more rings if needed.
  • a Consultant Inspector must witness water service installation.

Personal information is being collected under the authority of s. 28(2) of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and will be used for residential water meter requests . This information will be shared with staff who require it for their work as part of Kitchener Utilities and will be stored on a server owned by a Third Party Service Provider (eSolutions Group) located in Canada. The personal information collected herein will be used only for the purposes relating to the program and will be protected in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the MFIPPA.
