Notes:

  • No gas service will be installed until a copy of this form is received by our office

  • No service will be installed in a driveway unless agreed to by the corportation, in which case the cost of an impact barrier will be borne by the customer

  • Riser location must not be closer than 90 cm (3'-0") to dryer vent, fresh air intakes, heat pumps, air conditioners, hydro meter and high efficiency furnace exhaust: 3.0 m (10'-0") to mechanical air intake

  • Repair of concrete or asphalt on private property is the responsibility of the owner

  • A licensed heating contractor must submit the application on the customer’s behalf with approval from the property owner to ensure code requirements are met

  • Upon installation, a one-time meter set fee will apply. If the site is not ready for the meter and the technician is scheduled, an hourly service call fee will apply

  • The heating contractor has marked the desired meter location

  • The location of the service is within Kitchener Utilities franchise (service)


Installation Timing

Natural gas line installation is six to eight weeks under normal conditions, or up to six months for properties on regional roads. Services on regional roads are not permitted over the winter months.

Distance from the corner of the property: The preference/standard is 2 meters from the corner of the building (not including the porch)
