All users of the secure bicycle parking facilities must adhere to the following conditions:

  • Secure Bike Parking is for bicycles and bicycle-style e-bikes only. The amount of space available and the types of racks in the Secure Bike Parking cannot accommodate larger vehicles like motorcycle-style e-bikes, or sit-on scooter-style e-bikes. If you’re not sure if your bike is eligible or not, please send us an email. Find parking for a vehicle that's not eligible for Secure Bike Parking.
  • Secure Bike Parking is for daily parking while visiting downtown Kitchener. It cannot be used for long term storage of a bike, or for overnight storage – it is not meant to be a replacement for storing your bike at home
  • To enter the bike cage, use your personal access card. Do not give any non-user access to the facility and do not prop or hold the entrance gate open. Ensure that the door is closed and locked each time you exit the facility.
  • The bicycle racks within the facilities operate on a first-come first-served basis. Do not claim or attempt to claim a specific bicycle parking location for a user's sole use.
  • Lock your bicycle to the racks provided and respect the other bicycles within the facility by avoiding accidental scratching or other damages. Do not remove/move or interfere with another user's bicycle and do not lock your bicycle to anything but the bicycle racks provided.
  • The facilities are designed to accommodate bicycles only and are not to be used as storage space for other personal items. Do not leave any valuables or other items within the facility. Items deemed inappropriate for the facility will be removed and disposed of at the City's discretion.
