Senior of the year award nomination

Do you know an outstanding Kitchener resident aged 65+? If so, nominate this special person to be Kitchener’s 2026 Senior of the Year!

Nomination deadline for the 2026 award is March 31. Nominations received after this date will be held in consideration for the 2027 award.

The Provincial Senior of the Year award gives each municipality in Ontario the opportunity to honour one outstanding resident aged 65+ from their local community each year.

Eligibility

  • Nominee must be 65 years of age or older and a current resident of Kitchener
  • Nominee must give permission to be nominated and verify that the information being submitted is accurate
  • Nominee has made volunteer contributions to better the Kitchener community
  • Nominee has not been a previous recipient of this award (see kitchener.ca/SOTY for previous award recipients), and is not a current member of the Mayor’s Advisory council for Kitchener Seniors (MACKS)
  • Only individuals may be nominated (couples or groups are not eligible)
  • One nomination per organization may be submitted
