Nomination deadline for the 2025 award is March 31. Nominations received after this date will be held in consideration for the 2026 award.
The Provincial Senior of the Year award gives each municipality in Ontario the opportunity to honour one outstanding resident aged 65+ from their local community each year.

Nominations will be reviewed by a selection panel comprised of MACKS volunteers, City of Kitchener Council members, staff, and a representative from Volunteer Waterloo Region.
The recipient of Kitchener’s Senior of the Year Award will be announced by Mayor Berry Vrbanovic at a special recognition event in late May or early June. All candidates, their guests and nominators will be invited to attend the event featuring light refreshments, entertainment and announcement of award recipient from this year’s nominees. All nominees are recognized and will be presented with a certificate by Mayor Vrbanovic.

Please note that all information is confidential and protected by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
