Neighbours Day - Submission Form for Musicians

In celebration of Neighbours Day, the City of Kitchener will host a community-wide porch party across the city on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

This application is for musicians only. If you want to host a concert, subscribe to www.kitchener.ca/NeighboursDay to get an email notification when applications open to host a concert.

DateSaturday, June 20, 2026

Time: 12 to 5 p.m.

Compensation$500 honorarium for the afternoon (includes both both one-hour concerts). HST can be added if applicable. This fee includes travel.

What is expected:

  • We anticipate that each musician will play two one-hour sets—one at first neighbourhood outdoor location and the other at a second neighbourhood location.  Concerts will be scheduled for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. or 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • All musicians will be responsible for any equipment/gear for their sets.
  • Power will be available at each venue, but you will need to bring and transport any necessary equipment (e.g., power cords, mics, etc.) as well as any PA equipment.
  • Alternatively, you are welcome to use an acoustic set, but we recommend a PA system or amplification.
  • During the concerts, levels will be kept at a "reasonable volume" to be considerate of the crowd and neighbourhood, therefore, you won't need to use a lot of amplification.
  • Because you’ll be playing in two different neighbourhoods, each set can be the same if you wish.
  • Each musician will be responsible for their own travel to and from both locations that are assigned to them for their concert locations on Saturday, June 20, from 12 to 5 p.m.

Please fill out the form below if interested, and we will be in contact by March 18 with confirmation details.
