Flag pole request

Completed forms must be submitted to the office of the mayor and council at least 3 (three) weeks prior to the day requested for raising the flag.

 As per the City of Kitchener flag policy:

  • Persons submitting an application must be capable of legally binding their organization.
  • There will be no presentations or delegations at council meetings with respect to flag raising requests.
  • Requests will be processed on a first come first served basis.
  • At no time will the City of Kitchener display flags deemed to be inappropriate, offensive in nature or supporting discrimination, prejudice, political or religious movements.
  • The City of Kitchener reserves the right to choose which flags may or may not be flown on city owned property.

Please note, the community flag poles can only accommodate flags that are less than or equal to 114cm x 228cm in size.

Personal information is being collected under the authority of s.11(1) of the Municipal Act and in accordance with s. 28(2) of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and will be used to confirm community flagpole booking and issuing of flags and flagpole crank. This information may be shared with City Staff who require it for their work as part of the Corporation.  The personal information collected herein will be used only for the purposes relating to the program and will be protected in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the MFIPPA.
